Personal Chef FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q. What is a Personal Chef?

A. A personal chef is an accomplished cook who comes to your home for a day to prepare a number of meals for you. Personal chefs assist with menu planning and do the grocery shopping. They provide their own cookware, spices, oils and other cooking items. They cook the meals in your home, package and label the meals and cleanup your kitchen. Meals prepared by personal chefs are refrigerated or frozen and then can be heated for service as desired. Detailed heating instructions and menu plans are also provided so that you can quickly put together complete delicious meals.

Q. What is the difference between a Personal Chef and a Private Chef?

A. A private chef is employed by an individual or family full time, and is often "living in" and preparing up to 3 meals per day.

A Personal Chef serves several clients, usually one per day, and provides multiple meals that are custom designed for the client's particular requests and requirements. These meals are packaged and stored so that the client may enjoy them at their leisure in the future.

Q. Who hires personal chefs?

A. A common misconception is that a personal chef service is only for the wealthy. Anyone who has a need to solve the "What's for Dinner?" problem can hire a personal chef service. This may be people who are busy professionals, on the go, and people with special dietary needs. Anyone wanting to improve their quality of life through healthful, delicious, and nutritious meals, along with enjoying the convenience and free time the service provides, will hire a personal chef service.

Many people who love to cook use this service because they love to eat great food but don't have time during their busy week to pull it all together. They often make the best customers because they know the difference between average food and fantastic food. They really appreciate having it all done for them so they can enjoy meals and still have time for family and the activities they love.

Q. Isn't a personal chef expensive?

A. When you consider the time you save in grocery shopping, meal preparation and cleaning combined with the money you spend on groceries and eating out, you will probably save money. The cost of a personal chef service is comparable to your family eating out 3-4 nights per week at a family restaurant.

Having a Personal Chef is more than having healthy food. This service is a lifestyle change. You hand over your meal preparations to a trained professional and get back the time and energy to use as you see fit. The result is that you and your family eat better, healthier and have more time and energy to do the things you want to do.

Q. What Kinds Of Food Do You Prepare?

A. Whatever you want. After all, one of the benefits of hiring a Personal Chef is that you only get foods you like, prepared the way you like them. If you like broccoli, I'll put it on your menu. If you don't like (or can't eat) shellfish, you'll never see it.
